We’re wishing all of our Pacific Coast Explorers family a happy holiday season and since we consider our home base Newport Beach, it just wouldn’t be the holidays if we didn’t share the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade! For the first time in its 106 year history there will be Grand Marshals. Actress Leslie Mann and actor/singer Mark McGrath (both Newport Beach natives) will carry out those responsibilities. This year’s theme is “Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly.” The parade features more than 100 boats which come in all shapes and sizes and they’ll be decorated with festive lights, moving displays, dancers, elves, snowmen, santas, and pretty much every holiday character you can dream up. The boats will make their way down a scenic 14-mile stretch of Newport Harbor. The parade runs December 17-21 and starts at 6:30pm each evening. The New York Times calls it “one of the top 10 holiday happenings in the nation” and we couldn’t agree more. If you’re up for some fun come down and watch the parade live. We’ll be bringing you more coverage of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade throughout the week!
